Sebastián Ugarte Ubiergo, MD

LACTIN is a Pan-American network of critical care researchers that was founded by a group of international leaders led by Dr. Sebastián Ugarte Ubiergo. The network has had two international meetings in Chile in order to lay the foundations and framework for international collaboration. LACTIN has also incorporated leaders from the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group, which is the oldest and one of the most successful critical care research networks in the world; the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS)-Clinical Trials Group (CTG); the British Critical Care Research Forum; and the US Critical Illness and Injury Trials Group.
